PODGY Sgt Andy Sharp looks like he might need arrest — as the UK’s tubbiest cop.
But he was up to the task of marshalling crowds when he went stout and about at Sunday’s Help for Heroes charity bike ride.
He even found time to chew the fat with cycling hero Mark Cavendish as the Tour de France champ pulled over in his Jaguar in Blackheath, South East London.
And last month he ensured campaigners didn’t make a meal of a central London march against NHS cuts. Sources told The Sun Sgt Sharp is the biggest copper pounding the beat.
But he could have to shape up if new rules come in.
